Description
Fir-tree - the coniferous evergreen tree of cone-shaped form belonging to family Pine. The majority of types - tall plants with life expectancy till 300 flyings and more. In garden practice undersized and dwarfish forms are often used. Acerate leaves (needles) remain on escapes till 6 flyings; only their small part annually falls down. Coloring of needles at different types and grades - from gray-blue to flavovirent. Branches are located in the horizontal plane; there are grades with the hanging branches. Bark gray-brown. The adult plant has superficial root system that significantly reduces resistance of high types to strong winds. The sort includes about 45 types possessing different properties. Picea abies, or Norway spruce, - high forest tree, shade-enduring and frost-resistant. Prefers acid, moderately wet soil. Steadily against diseases and wreckers, but it is sensitive to adverse influence of the environment (smoke; bogging of the soil). Low and dwarfish grades with various form of krone are removed: spherical, subauriform, kolonnovidny, plakuchy. Picea pungens, or Colorado spruce, - high-decorative, drought-resistant, frost-resistant look. Tree high, with needles of green, green-blue, silvery coloring. It is exacting to soil fertility and its humidity, but does not take out marshiness. Transfers gas contamination and smoke; photophilously. Picea orientalis, or Oriental spruce, - plant with small needles and rare, graceful cone-shaped krone. It is undemanding to soil fertility, tenevynoslivo, but possesses weak winter hardiness. The Siberian spruce (Picea obovata), Serbian spruce (Picea omorica), fir-tree white (Picea glauca), it gray or Canadian belong to other widespread types. The fir-tree is undemanding and unpretentious. Features: the fir-tree needles have strong bactericidal properties. Partner plants: ornamental shrubs, vesennetsvetushchy bulbous, ground-cover plants.
